The City of Dillon, City of Dillon Parks and Recreation Department, and the Humane Society of Dillon County held their Fourth Annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, November 18 on the grounds of the Dillon Wellness Center.
Nineteen teams vied for prizes of $150 each for the Judges’ Award and the People’s Choice Award. $50 prizes were also given for Best Civic Club, Best Restaurant, Best First Responder, and Best Individual. Winners of the Judges’ Award was the Dillon County Sheriff’s Department team. The People’s Choice Award went to the Main Street United Methodist Men’s team. Other winners were the Dillon Rescue Squad, Hodges Restaurant, Perdue, and the Dillon Kiwanis Club.
The nineteen cookers who participated in this fundraiser for the Humane Society’s Spay/Neuter program were as follows: Anthony Ivey, David Altman, Dillon County Fire Department, Dillon County EMS, Dillon County Sheriff’s Department, Dillon Fire Station # 1, Dillon Fire Station # 4, Dillon Kiwanis Club, Dillon Police Department, Dillon Rescue Squad, Dillon Rotary Club, Hodges Restaurant, Latta Police Department, Main Street United Methodist Church Men, Sandy Lockemy, SC Department of Transportation, Sidney’s Restaurant, Perdue, and Mason and Tony Tompkins.
