Dear Editor:
I am pleased to salute the principal, teachers, staff, students, and the JROTC cadets at Dillon High School for the OUTSTANDING morning Veterans Day celebration held on Friday at the high school. The morning began with an 8:00 a.m., breakfast of hot grits, sausage, and eggs served by the cadets to us veterans.
At 9:00 a.m., we were escorted through an honor guard of raised swords into the gymnasium and given VIP seats for the Veterans Day program. The cadets sang patriotic songs, made patriotic remarks, recognized each branch of service, marched and called cadence around the gymnasium, performed rifle drills, and gave a host honors to us veterans. And thanks to all the DHS students who filled the gymnasium stands and cheered for us vets.
WELL DONE Dillon High School and thanks for once again helping to make another Veterans Day so special for us vets. God bless DHS and God bless the United States of America.

Whenever I read the headline of the November 14th issue of The Dillon Herald about Hardee’s coming to Latta, I was overcome with joy and sadness at the same time.
