A woman was killed in a fatal crash on Monday night, according to Coroner Donnie Grimsley.
Grimsley identified the woman as Challissah L-Ecole J Mills, 26 years old, of Florence. Grimsley said she died of trauma due to a motor vehicle accident.
The crash occurred around 6:29 p.m. on Monday on Highway 57. Mills, who was heading north on Highway 57, was driving a 2000 Volvo and was attempting to turn left into a private drive. The driver of a 2007 Chevy was heading north and struck the Volvo and then a tree, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol. Mills died at the scene, the SCHP said. The driver of the Chevy along with two teens, who were passengers in the vehicle, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the SCHP said.
