TOWNVILLE—Norman E. McDaniels, 75, husband of Ola Mae F. McDaniels of Townville SC, died July 11, 2017 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.
Born in Horry County, he was the son of the late Nomer and Eunice McDaniels. He was a retired truck driver. He loved music, and played rhythm guitar for the Blue River Bluegrass Band. His bluegrass friends called him “Elmo.”
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, of the home, a daughter, Theresa Anne Fleming (Mike) of Belton, a son, Darrell Keith McDaniels (Mary) of Belton, two brothers, Marshall McDaniels of Mullins, and Billy McDaniels of Florence, four sisters, Patricia King, Jackie Yarborough, Cindy Greene, and Gale James, all of Florence SC, and four granddaughters, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Cooper Funeral Home, Dillon SC. The family will receive friends at Cooper Funeral Home from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2017. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Hospice of the Upstate, 1335 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
