To The Editor:
I would like to commend The Dillon Herald and its editor on the article and commentary concerning the Local Option Sales Tax (Thursday, June 15, 2017, issue). Thank you for bringing this to the citizenry.
I would also like to thank Councilmen Buzzy Finklea, Stevie Grice, and Harold Moody for their vote against the budget. I certainly hope the other Councilmen, James Campbell, Robbie Coward, Archie Scott, and Jack Scott will rethink their stance on this issue. Surely they can find other options to balance the budget than on the backs of our schools and school kids.
With the possibility of other industries locating in the county, now is not the time to shortchange the education of our future workforce.
