Robert Kenneth Herring, 66, of 802 Oakdale Drive, Elizabeth City, NC died Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was born December 11, 1950 in Berkeley County, SC to the late Ezra Lawton Herring, Sr. and Inez Murray Herring and was the husband of Elizabeth Gail Herring of the residence. He was an Aerostat Specialist at TCOM LP in Elizabeth City, NC and a member of Faith Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Beverly Herring Smartt and husband Tim of Ripley, TN and Christina Herring of Elizabeth City, NC; two brothers, Jim Herring and wife Cindy and Ricky Jackson and wife Lynn all of Dillon, SC; and three grandchildren, Jonathan, Paige, and Joshua. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Ezra Lawton Herring, Jr.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryan Pease officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery with military honors rendered by the William Clarence Jackson VFW Post #6060. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
