Dillon County Fire Department Station 9 (Oak Grove) elected a new Fire Chief Josh Caulder during their March meeting.
Chief Terry Weichel performed the swearing in ceremony and oath of duty for the new chief.
Chief Weichel also performed the ceremony for the newly elected fire officers.
Chief Caulder commented, “I’m very excited about building on the great foundation of the Oak Grove Fire Department and working with the department members, other county fire departments and county administration to accomplish great things in a inclusive and collaborative manner. This department has a rich history of serving the community with pride and by working together we can continue to serve our community providing a positive impact and accomplishing so much more.”
Outgoing Chief Weichel commented, “ I am confident that Josh’s leadership skills and the talent Oak Grove Fire Department possesses, from the entry level firefighter through our senior officers, the residents can be proud of their Fire Department.”
