Dillon Volleyball Falls
To Bishop England
The Dillon Lady Wildcats varsity volleyball season ended on Wednesday, Oct. 26, when Bishop England swept the first round of the Class 3A state playoffs 3-0 in Charleston by 25-19, 25-10, and 25-14.
Latta Defeats Barnwell
The Latta Lady Vikings defeated Barnwell 3-2 in the first round of the Class 2A volleyball state playoffs in Barnwell on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
Genesis Anderson had 13 assists and 3 blocked shots in the 20-25, 25-12, 20-25, 25-9, and 15-13 victory for Latta.
Arica Gandy added 11 kills, and Brandy Williams had 3 aces and 5 digs for the Lady Vikings. Latta traveled on Monday, Oct. 31, for the second round.
Lake View Advances In Volleyball
The Lake View Lady Wild Gators advanced in the Class A varsity volleyball by defeating Baptist Hill 3-0 in Lake View on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 25-14, 25-10, and 25-16.
The Gators’ Shakyra Parker had 22 kills and 2 aces while Madison Greene added 23 assists and 2 aces.
Lake View’s Evans added 13 assists, and Jasmine Ford had 6 assists and 2 aces.
Logan Spivey ad 2 aces and 11 kills in the victory while Tankaia Wheeler contributed 5 aces and 2 assists.
Spivey Evan and Caroline Arnette each added 2 kills for Lake View.
Lake View traveled to Military Magnet on Monday, October 31, at 5:00 p.m.
Lake View Lady Wild Gators Defeated Military Magnet
The Lake View Lady Wild Gators defeated Military Magnet 3-0 in varsity volleyball action on Monday, Oct. 31, in North Charleston to advance in the playoffs.
Shakyra Parker had 20 kills for Lake View, and Madison Greene had 28 assists in the Gators’ 25-8, 25-18, and 25-18 victory.
Caroline Arnette added 3 aces and 2 kills for the Gators, and Logan Spivey contributed another 14 kills.
Tankasia Wheeler and Jasmine Ford each had 8 kills for Lake View.
Mi’lashia Wheeler had 10 digs, and Sarah Evans had 8 digs in the victory.
Spivey Evans added 12 assists for Lake View.
Lake View is 14-5 for the season.
Lake View traveled to Branchville on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 5:30 p.m. for the next match in the playoffs.
Latta Volleyball Season Comes To End
The Latta Lady Vikings volleyball season came to an end on Monday, Oct. 31, in Aiken with a 3-1 loss to Silver Bluff in Class 2A playoffs.
Silver Bluff defeated Latta 25-22, 25-9, 17-25, and 25-22.
Genesis Anderson had 4 aces, 2 blocks, and 3 assists in the loss for Latta while Brooke Carter had 4 aces.
Latta’s Arica Gandy contributed 4 kills and 2 blocks while Kaleigh Caulder and Brandy Williams each added 3 assists.
Latta ended the season with a 9-8 record.
