Make-A-Wish South Carolina is seeking volunteers to help make wishes come true for children across the state.
These “wish granting” volunteers work as a team of 2 with local wish families to understand the wish child’s one true wish, generate excitement about the wish, and walk families through the process.
The time commitment is flexible but long-term, usually 10-20 hours per wish child over the course of a year.
For this reason, it is important that individuals can commit to volunteering for a minimum of 1.5 years.
Training includes a background check (around $26), and completion of a few online courses and a webinar. The minimum age is 21 years old.
The chapter is specifically in need of 1-2 more volunteers in Dillon County to help as local wish families are referred.
Contact Brennan Brown at bbrown@sc.wish.org or 864-250-0702 x 112 to learn more or to start the application process.
