In light of a lot of negative things that are happening within our county, state and nation, it is sometimes hard to find people that, during these difficult times, stand up and give back in the face of adversity.
Gladly, there are some great men that have demonstrated throughout the years that there are indeed encouraging people within the community that do answer this call on a regular basis. The Beulah Light # 9 Holy Royal Arch Masons of South Carolina, under the leadership of Excellent High Priest, Ronald Hal Johnson, are such men.
On Saturday, July 2, 2016, the Masons held their annual Fourth of July Cookout at the park in the Hill Top Community in Lake View South Carolina.
To the surprise of many, the Masons have been giving back to their community by providing this wonderful event in Lake View for over 7 years. The event included a free cook out for the community, a bouncy for the younger children to enjoy and a 3×3 basketball tournament for the older teens that included trophies for the top 3 teams.
However, these amazing men did not end there. They continued their giving by providing needed school supplies that included, paper, pens, pencils, markers, tablets and book bags to approximately 30 children at the Fork Chapel Baptist Church Youth Department in Lake View, SC on August 14, 2016.
It is really refreshing to see the outpour of love and commitment from such a group of men.
Although some have moved on to various places, counties, and states, they continue to rally together each year to express their love for the town that they called home.
We as a community sincerely appreciate that they continue frequently to make a small, but impactful difference to the lives of the ones that remain.
