On Saturday, July 16th, three members of the Glove and Trowel Garden Club, President-Julie Sawyer, Linda Dutton and Julie LeChette, traveled to Columbia, to the Garden Club of South Carolina’s Summer Expo.
Guest speakers Matt Johnson with the SC Audubon Society, Laura Blake with the SC Wildlife Federation and Pearl Fryar from Bishopville gave wonderful programs about backyard habitats, native birds of South Carolina and topiary gardens.
There were also workshops on Awards with Karen Prewitt and using Social Media and Public Relations with Jeannie Bluemel and DeeDee Vaughters.
Garden club members from seven districts all across the state shared a day of fun and learning.
