Employees of the Harbor Freight Tools Distribution Center donated 72 pints of blood at a recent blood drive, achieving a Dillon County record for a one-day blood drive at a business.
143 associates signed up to donate blood at the Harbor Freight Tools Distribution Center blood drive on May 9, helping to make a significant impact on the lives of others. Harbor Freight Tools has partnered with the American Red Cross on blood drives dating back to 2002.
“The American Red Cross is appreciative of Harbor Freight Tools donors,” said Ryan Corcoran, donor recruitment director for the South Carolina Blood Services Region. “Giving blood is a selfless act. The hour it takes to give the gift of life can mean a lifetime to a patient with a serious medical need.”
Every day, patients throughout the Pee Dee area and across the country rely on volunteer blood donors when receiving healthcare.
Cancer patients, trauma victims, organ transplant recipients, premature babies, sickle cell disease patients and others may need blood products.
Donors unable to give at the Harbor Freight Tools blood drive are encouraged to make an appointment at blood drives occurring throughout the area. Donors can download the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to find a nearby blood donation opportunity or schedule an appointment. adv.
