The Physicians Healthcare Yankees (10-5) defeated the Dillon Internal Medicine Hurricanes, 4-0, Tuesday evening to clinch the Major League championship behind the shutout pitching on Dylan Windham and Andrew Bryant. Windham threw three innings of no-hit ball to get the win and Bryant was credited with a save.
Windham was also the leading hitter in the game going getting an rbi single and a double in three trips to the plate and also drove in run with a ground out in the first inning. Emory Ellis also doubled for the winners, driving in an insurance run in a three-run rally in the third. Jeremy Byrd singled with one out in the inning and Mason Miller followed with a single.
Bryant was intentionally walked to load the bases setting the stage for Windham’s rbi single and the two-base hit by Ellis. Kyle Rowell also hit safely for the Yankees. Tripp Roberts broke up the no-hitter for the Canes with a double to right field in  the top of the fourth and D.J. Brogdon doubled in the sixth, but was stranded at third.
In the minors, The Burger King Braves beat the ACE Hardware Tigers (8-1) in Tuesday’s first game. Brody Cook pitched two innings and allowed the only run giving up his only hit, a double off the bat of Jackson Outlar. Deegan Roberts added the other hit off reliever Weston Byrd to lead off the final at bat for the Tigers. Bryce Patterson led all hitters for the Braves with three hits in three times at the plate and two runs batted in. Byrd, Cook and Cody Altman added base hits for the winners.
In Friday action last week, the Hurricanes defeated the Yankees in one of the closest games of the season, besting the eventual champs, 3-2 in 5 innings.
The Canes got a two-out single from Que Singleton to drive in the winning run in the fourth inning.
Elisha Williams began the inning with a base on balls, but was forced out at second on a fielder’s choice by D.J. Brogdon. Holden Matthews grounded out to the pitcher for the second out and Nigel George singled. Tripp Roberts loaded the bases with a walk to set the stage for Singleton’s big hit.
The Yankees came back in the top of the fifth with a lead off double by Mason Miller and Kyle Rowell homered to get to within a run. Roberts, who got the pitching win struck out the side to notch the victory.
