The Dillon High Wind Ensemble performed at the South Carolina Band Director’s Association’s Concert Band Assessment on March 16, 2016.  Their performance earned them a Superior rating. They did extremely well with their stage performance and earned a perfect score in sight-reading. All of the judges complimented the students on how well they looked and their high level of discipline.  Because of their great performance on today along with earlier accomplishments this school year, the Dillon High School Band program is eligible to receive the Outstanding Performance Award (OPA). This is the equivalent of earning the Palmetto Gold Award but for band. In order to receive the OPA the band have to earn 8 superior ratings at Solo and Ensemble Festival in April. If we are able to accomplish this it will be the first time in school history.
