The Lake View Wild Gators defeated the East Clarendon Wolverines 10-1 in varsity baseball action on Wednesday, May 11, in Lake View.
The Wild Gators’ Josh Price pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowed 4 hits, l run, and struck out 6. William Ard pitched 1 2/3 innings in relief for Lake View.
Lake View collected 11 hits and committed 2 errors in the game. The Wolverines committed 4 errors.
East Clarendon scored first in the top of the second inning with 1 run but Lake View connected for 2 runs in the bottom of the second inning to take the lead and did not trail again in the game. Lake View picked up 3 runs in the bottom of the fourth and added 5more in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Stone Spivey connected for 3 hits and 2 rbi in 4 at-bats for Lake View. Hunter Stevens was perfect at the plate with 2 hits and a rbi in 2 trips. Josh Price connected for a triple and 2 rbi in his 3 at-bats for the Wild Gators.
The Wolverines were led by Kacy Floyd who was 1-for-2 while Hunter Lee and Kyle Sims each connected for 1 hit in 3 at-bats.
Lake View is now 21-8 for the season.
The Lake View Wild Gators traveled to Latta on Friday at 5:30 p.m. to face the Vikings for the Class A lower state championship.
