The Dillon Lady Wildcats defeated Darlington 5-1 in Darlington in varsity softball action played Wednesday, March 23, in Darlington.
The Lady ‘Cats picked up 5 runs off of 6 hits  in the top of the first inning to give the team all of the runs needed for the victory. Dillon’s entire line-up reached the base safely including singles by  Brittany Miller, Tori Grimsley, and Ashley Phillips. Erin Bailey and A’Dosha Graves scored off of errors.
Darlington committed 3 errors while Dillon committed 1 error.
Darlington managed to pick up the single run of the game in the bottom of the first inning while being held scoreless the remainder of the game behind the pitching of Marissa Tyndall who pitched the complete game and allowed 3 hits, 1 run, struck out 3, and walked 2.
Bailey Yarborough was tagged with the loss having allowed 5 hits and 5 runs in the top of the first before being relieved by seventh-grader Maddie Andrews who finished the pitching assignment for Darlington.
Dillon’s Marissa Tyndall was perfect at the plate in her 3 appearances with 2 doubles, a run, and hit-by-a-pitch.
Tori Grimsley was 2 for 3 at-bats with a rbi and Erin Bailey was 2 for 4 with a run in the Lady Cats’ victory.
Darlington was led by Kadasia Damon who went 1 for 2 at the plate with a run. Lilly Bauback and Sidney Blackmon each picked up 1 hit in 3 at-bats.
Dillon is now 5 and 2, and Darlington is 5 and 5 for the season.
Dillon hosted  the defending state champion Aynor on Thursday, March 24.
