NOTE INCLUDED WITH THIS STORY TO THE EDITOR: I am a long time resident of Latta, and I have resided from 7 1/2 months of age until the present. I have noticed that during the month February “Black History Month” that you have published several articles on prominent African-Americans in our area. I would like to however submit an article of a Bishop in our area by the name of Bishop R.F. Davis. There are many churches and also pastors in the Dillon County area that can find their beginnings right under the leadership of Bishop R.F. Davis and the Greater Highway Churches of Christ, Inc. I have had the pleasure of knowing Bishop R.F. Davis my entire life, as my family were some of the pioneers of the Greater Highway Church of Christ in Latta, during its genesis, and my great-grandfather was one of the elders in the church and today because of Bishop R.F. Davis obedience to God, and relocating to South Carolina, I am a proud fourth generation Apostolic.
