The Dillon High School varsity and jr. varsity volleyball teams recognized their players with an Awards Ceremony on January 11.
J.V. team members are Carlie Huggins, Lee Hodge, Olexia Lee, Jykya Bell, Marquasia Mitchell, Lexie Rogers, Emilee Price, Lyric Lane, Olyvea Ramos, Regina Johnson, Yazmine Hardwick, Abby Bristow, Jakala Hayes, Makayla Wiggins, Katie Cannon, and Skyler McCoy.
The JV Wildcats finished their season with an 10-2 season.

Varsity team members are: Taylor Turner, Johnna Rogers, Kristen McMillan, Khamele Manning, Heather Stackhouse, Sarah Johnson, Emilee Price, Bailey Grossetti, Carlie Huggins, Desiree’ McLain, Lyric Lane, Ny’Asia Campbell , Yazmine Hardwick, Da’Kerhia Samuel, and Ashley Phillips. Student assistants are Malaysia Gallespie, Lilly Hulon, and Jordan McTeer.
The 2015 Varsity Wildcats finished their season with a 23-2 record.
They won the Region Championship in a five game nail-biting play-off match against Waccamaw, one of the two teams they lost to this year.
After splitting the first four sets, Dillon jumped out to a 9-5 lead, but then Waccamaw forged ahead 12-9.With the match on the line, the Lady Cats dug deep and scored the next six points to take the match and the championship.
They worked their way through the State Play-offs with a three-set win over Andrews, four-set win over Battery Creek, and another come from behind fifth set match over Academic Magnet. They overcame an 11-14 deficit to pick up the win and earn the school’s first trip to the Lower State Championship ever.
The season ended with a three-set loss to Bishop England, winners of the State Championship 16 consecutive times and 27 total. Congratulations to the Lady Cats on a great season.
