An assault and battery occurred at a Dillon business on Main Street on Friday about 9:30 a.m.
According to a report by Sgt. Melvin Lee of the City of Dillon Police Department, the victim told him that a black male, approximately 20-30 years old, entered the Dollar Deal store at 115 West Main Street and was looking around the store. He then purchased a couple of items.
After he purchased the items, he came up towards the victim. She told him not to come near her and tried to mace the man. He grabbed her by the arm and started pulling her towards the back of the store, the report says. When he took her to the back, the man kept looking up towards the front of the store to see if someone was coming. He then went to the front of the store to check again.
The victim tried to get out of the store, but the man stopped her, and took her again to the back of the store. She kept trying to fight him off and eventually the man ran out of the store.
City police checked the area, but could not find the man. The man is described as a 5’10”-6″ black male with a slim build. He was wearing a turquoise hoodie. If you have any information about this case, call the City of Dillon Police Department at 843-774-0051 or call the City of Dillon tip line at 843-774-0051 ext. 1710.
