Work continues towards the opening of a Veterans Transition Center.
The center is accepting donations and grants to help make this a reality.
The Veterans Transition Center will offer assistance to veterans who are disabled, have drug and alcohol problems, who need support, who need transportation, or who need a safe place to live. A veteran who would be eligible for these services would be active military who have been discharged any way other than dishonorably.
They are obtaining a location on Mount Calvary Road in Dillon.
Anyone interested in donating or who needs more information should contact Eugene Paige at 843-774-3705.
