The Dillon Historic School Foundation will meet Tuesday, January 5  at 6:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Chamber of Commerce.  December was a busy month of completed, initiated, and pending activities and projects. Members will receive updated details at the meeting.  
The Historical Marker for the J.V. Martin campus has been received and is safely stored, awaiting completion of plans for a ceremony honoring the placement of the auditorium, gymnasium, cafeteria and West Elementary School on the National Register of Historic Places.  According to information on the National Register website, this will be the nineteenth marker placed in Dillon County.
Several hundred of the attractive and informative DHSF brochures have been mailed, and response has been very favorable. Mailing will continue periodically as well as placing the brochures in prominent places for pick up.
DHSF invites all who are interested in its auditorium project to attend the meeting.
