Criterion Club Summer Camp

A six-week Summer Camp was held at the Criterion Club from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. daily.   The daily attendance totaled 25-30 children each day.  On arrival the campers were enthusiastically greeted and served breakfast. The agenda for each day began with various educational activities for one hour.    There were arts and crafts to show the creative and individual side of the participants. A variety of physical activities were implemented that included; jump rope, dodge ball, football, and kick ball.  The down time activities were movies, board games and lunch.  Goodbyes were said prior to dismissal.  The students went home with great anticipation of the next time for “Summer Fun at the Criterion Center”.  On the final day, all participants received a back to school bag of school supplies.  The children had an awesome time during “Camp Criterion”. The Program Coordinator for the Summer Camp was Criterion Member Shelawan Curry, the Assistant Program Coordinator was Criterion Member Jackie Yates Leach, and Criterion Member Dr. Miranda E. Manning, volunteer. The Criterion Club would like to thank our sponsors and supporters of our Programs as we continue to provide recreation, educational and community activities for children and adults.  Thank you very much to the Summer Camp Committee for doing a magnificent job during the implementation of this wholesome activity for our youth.
