The Dillon Historical School Foundation (DHSF) met for the regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at the Dillon Chamber of Commerce Office, with an over-capacity attendance with members and new members present. Chairman Gerald Berry called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and welcomed Ray Rogers, Dillon School District Four Superintendent. Mr. Rogers shared with the group the status of the J. V. Martin Auditorium property and available options.
After routine reports and business, Chairman Berry provided copies of the newly designed informational brochures which were approved by unanimous vote. A decision for window decals was deferred, pending additional information regarding suppliers and costs.
Turning to new business, Chairman Berry provided a report on the status of the Historical Marker to be placed at the J. V. Martin site.
Any persons who cannot attend, but would like to be kept informed of DHSF activities and plans, send an email to Chairman Berry at berrygm327@ad.com with “INFORM ME” in the Subject line and your full name as the message. Individuals without access to the internet may contact Chairman Berry and provide their name and mailing address. Either by “snail mail” or email, DHSF notices and meeting agenda will be provided.
All meetings are on “first Tuesdays” at the Dillon County Chamber of Commerce Conference Room located on Main Street, in Dillon. Visitors and new members are welcome to attend. The next meeting will be October 6th at 7:00 p.m.
