County Board Takes Up Bank Bids
The Dillon County Board of Education took up bank bids on funds in excess of $1 million at their April meeting.
The bids were as follows:
Bank Bids on investing funds in excess of $1 million.
First Citizens-.10%
First Bank- .05%
Local Government Investment Pool-2650%
Board member Carl Altman made a motion seconded by Board member James C. McRae to leave Invested funds at the Local Government Investment Pool.

Alternative School Discussed
The Alternative School was briefly discussed at the Dillon County Board of Education’s meeting in April.
The charge is $14.10 per student per day. Last year, the program cost $250,000.
ATEC Director Jerry Strickland said one of the biggest expenses was getting the students there.
Latta Superintendent Dr. John Kirby said the alternative school needs to operate year round. It provides an alternative to expulsion.
