Dillon’s Lady Wildcats earned a 3-0 win over Timberland at home on Thursday and then traveled to Barnwell on Saturday for a 14-0 win in the Class 2A, District V playoffs.

On Thursday, Dillon hosted the Lady Wolves, holding them off at bat while picking up one run in the bottom of the second and two in the third for the 3-0 win.

Tiffany Dwyer pitched five innings for the Wildcats with three hits, one walk, and four outs. Shaquailla German got the save with two innings on the mound for four outs. Hailey Welch took the loss for Timberland, pitching six innings for three runs, two walks, and three outs.

At bat for the Wildcats, German went 1-for-1 with a home run; Da’Kerhia Samuel went 1-for-3 with a triple; Brittany Miller went 2-for-3 with a triple and one RBI; and Johnna Rogers went 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI.

On Saturday, the Lady Cats traveled to Barnwell to face the Region 5-A champ, earning a 14-0 win in five innings. Dillon picked up two runs in the top of the second, three in the third, four in the fourth, and five in the fifth to seal the win.

German got the win on the mound, pitching all five innings, allowing just three walks with one hit by pitch while striking out 12 batters. Barnwell’s Brown took the loss, pitching three and two-thirds innings for seven hits, eight runs, six earned runs, and one out.

Erin Bailey led the Wildcats at bat, going 2-for-3 with a home run, a triple, and five RBI; Tyieshah Jones went 3-for-3; German went 2-for-4; and Auh’Kieria Smiling went 2-for-3 with three RBI. The Wildcats had 12 hits in the win.

The Lady Warhorses had four errors in the no-hitter.

Dillon improved to 16-5 overall and advanced to host the District V championship game on Wednesday night against the winner of Monday’s elimination game between Timberland and Barnwell.
