The Dillon County Public-Private Partnership Board held the annual Industry Appreciation Luncheon at Twin Lakes Country Club recently.
Chairman Haywood Proctor thanked those in attendance for being part of Dillon County’s industries.  Industries represented at this year’s luncheon were Wix, McLeod, and Vesuvius. Proctor said they had a good year this past year with the announcement of Wyman-Gordon.  He said while a great deal of emphasis had been placed on Wyman-Gordon, they appreciate all of Dillon County’s industries.
Proctor said they are developing a Workforce Training Center to train workers for higher-skilled jobs and to provide a quality workforce.
Several officials and others were recognized for being in attendance including Dillon County Council Chairman T.F. Finklea, Jr., County Administrator Clay Young, County Councilman Robbie Coward, County Councilman Stevie Grice, Jeff McKay from NESA, Rep. Wayne George, Dillon Mayor Todd Davis, Rodney Berry from Congressman Tom Rice’s office, Sherrie Chapman from NETC, Jennifer deCesare from the S.C. Department of Commerce, and Stuart Ames of Duke Energy, who contributed to the luncheon.
After Proctor’s remarks and a blessing by Rev. Rob Pierce, guests enjoyed a buffet-style lunch and fellowship.  After the luncheon, several of those in attendance played golf.
