The Latta Vikings were ranked second in the state in the final Class A baseball polls of the season, with Lake View and Dillon also appearing in the top 10.

Latta, who finished the season with a 14-5-2 overall record and an undefeated 10-0 record in Region 8-A, was ranked second in the state in Class A behind Fox Creek. The Fox Creek Predators advanced to the upper state semi-finals last season and enter the playoffs with a 17-2-2 record and a 10-0 record in Region 1-A.

East Clarendon was ranked third in the poll, followed by McBee and Lewisville in the top 5. The East Clarendon Wolverines earned a 6-2 win over the Dillon Wildcats in their second meeting this season and should be a strong contender in the lower state bracket.

Lake View was ranked sixth in the state after finishing second in Region 8-A. The Wild Gators were 20-6 overall and 8-2 in the region.

Bamberg and Southside Christian took seventh and eight ,and Hannah-Pamplico took ninth with Whitmire in tenth. The Hannah-Pamplico Raiders earned a 5-3 win over Latta in March and tied 3-3 in their second meeting.

In the Class 2A polls, Dillon was ranked seventh in the state. The Wildcats finished the regular season with a 10-6 overall record and an 8-2 record in Region 8-2A to claim the region title.

Mid Carolina led the polls, followed by defending state champs Ninety Six, Buford, Woodruff, Blacksburg, and Strom Thurmond, all from the upper state. Waccamaw was ranked just behind Dillon in eighth place, followed by Bishop England and Powdersville. Blacksburg, Woodruff, and Powdersville are all from Region 1-2A.

In Class 3A, Belton-Honea Path was ranked first with Hartsville in second.

In Class 4A, Summerville and JL Mann took the top two spots.
