The Dillon Wildcats shut out the Loris Lions 10-0 in Dillon on Tuesday night in varsity baseball action.
The Wildcats scored in the bottom of the first and picked up six runs in the third and three in the fourth to seal the win.
Dillon’s Ray Ray McGirt pitched a one-hitter on the mound for the win in five innings. Kolin Causey took the loss for Loris, pitching four innings for eight hits, 10 runs, two earned runs, and two walks, striking out seven.
At bat for the Wildcats, Duncan Callahan and Joseph Scott each had two hits in the win, and Patrick Herring picked up two RBI. Dillon had eight hits and no errors.
Loris’s Desmond Dozier went 1-for-1 for the Lions’ only hit. Loris had six errors in the effort.
The Wildcats are now 1-3 in the regular season and are off to a 1-0 start in Region 8-2A.
Dillon was scheduled to host East Clarendon on Wednesday in a non-conference game and will travel to Mullins on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
