The Dillon Christian School Warriors earned a 3-2 win over Emmanuel Baptist on Thursday, March 12, in varsity baseball action.
Nick Smith earned the win on the mound, pitching seven innings and facing 28 batters for one hit, two runs, and one earned run, giving up one walk with one hit by pitch while striking out eight.
At bat for the Warriors, Connor Hamilton went 3-for-4 with one run scored; Jake Boykin went 2-for-3; Ethan Shackelford went 2-for-3 with one run; Nick Smith went 2-for-3; Ross Carlyle went 1-for-3 with one run; and Thomas Evans was 1-for-1.
In the field, Isaac Hendrix made four assists with one error, and Connor Hamilton made three put outs. The Warriors made a total of 10 put outs in the field.
Emmanuel Baptist’s only hit was a double.
The Warriors got off to a 1-0 start in the regular season of varsity baseball action, and were scheduled to host Scotland Christian on Tuesday.
Tonight, the Warriors will host Trinity/Byrnes Collegiate at 5:00 p.m. and on Friday, the Warriors will be on the road for a rematch against Scotland Christian at 4:00 p.m. Then on Monday, March 23, the Warriors will travel to The King’s Academy at 5:00 p.m. before hosting Florence Christian on Tuesday.
