Services for Olin “Newt” Caulder, Sr. will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Bethlehem Church Cemetery in Temperance Hill. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
     Mr. Caulder, 77, died Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Carolina’s Hospital System in Marion.
     Born in Marion County, SC, June 26, 1937, he was the son of the late Haston Caulder and Romie Cook Caulder. He was a retired Carpenter and Farmer.  He was previously married first to the late Emma Cook Lane, and then to Linda C. Lane.
     Survivors include his sons, Olin Jr. Caulder of Rembert, SC, and Rooster Caulder of Floydale; daughters, Janet Crawford of Dillon, and Angela Caulder of Santee; sons-in-law, John P. Crawford and Timothy Lane; step-sons, Sam Lane of Latta, and Frank Lane; step-grandson, Jarrod Lane; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and one on the way; sisters, Diane Herring of Latta, Annie Mae Faircloth, and Emma Jean Scott, both of Dillon; brother, John D. Caulder of Charlotte, NC.
     Mr. Caulder was preceded in death by his son, Ronald A. Caulder; brothers, Carl, Larry, Haston, William, and S.J. Caulder; sisters, Margaret “Sally” Hatley, Florence Sweat, Dorothy Fronnie Cook; grandchildren, Richard T. Taylor, and Jessica Caulder.
