The March meeting of The Dillon Historic School Foundation (DHSF) was called to order by Chairperson Gerald Berry at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3rd, at the Dillon County Chamber of Commerce Conference Room.
After an invocation, Mary Skipper Miller presented minutes of the February meeting which were accepted as written. John Wilson provided the treasurer’s report.The agenda then addressed progress reports on projects and special committee assignments. The group then addressed planning for the design and printing of an informational brochure regarding the J.V. Martin Auditorium. Additional discussion focused on researching potentially available grants for refurbishing and maintaining the site.
Chairman Berry reported the sign designating the facility as listed on the Natinal Registry of Historic Places has been ordered.
Chairman Berry announced a pending meeting with School District and Board staff will be held in mid-March.
After discussion of new business the group adjourned with a reminder from Chairman Berry that the next meeting will be Tuesday, April 7th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Chamber Offices on Main Street. New members and visitors are welcome and encouraged to attend.
