Lake View’s Wild Gators earned a 59-54 win over the visiting Green Sea Floyds Trojans on Tuesday night in boys varsity basketball action.

Duane Nichols led the Gators with a team-high 19 points and Delvon Bethea added 13 points in the win. Emmanuel Williams scored 12 points; Chavis Nichols, 7; Xavier Johnson, 4; Jeremy Moody, 2; and Anthony Bines, 2.

The Wild Gators improved to 1-8 in Region 8-A while the Trojans fell to 3-6 in the region.

Lake View is set to wrap up the regular season on the road tonight at Carvers Bay at 6:00 p.m.

Latta leads the region, followed by Carvers Bay and Hemingway. The Class A boys playoffs begin Tuesday.

UPDATE: Carvers Bay defeated Lake View 79-29 on Thursday night to secure second place in Region 8-A. The Bears will host a playoff game on Tuesday night in the first round of the Class A playoffs.
