The Pee Dee Academy Golden Eagles soared past Dillon Christian School’s Lady Warriors on Thursday night in girls varsity basketball action in Mullins.

The Lady Eagles took a 20-5 lead in the first quarter to take firm control of the game. The Lady Warriors outscored Pee Dee 10-9 in the second, but still trailed 29-15 at the half. Pee Dee returned to the court to outscore the Warriors 32-5 in the second half to cap the win.

Anna Marie Grice led the Eagles with a game-high 11 points and Lindsay Martin added 10. Zeman scored 9; Dozier, 8; Webster, 8; Brown, 7; White, 4; and Gasque, 4.

Samantha Carpenter led the Lady Warriors with a team-high eight points. Emilie Martin added 4; Erin Hamer, 3; Jamie Carpenter, 2; and Katelyn Thompson, 2.

Pee Dee improved to 16-4 overall and 6-2 in SCISA Region 3-2A while the Warriors closed out their regular season with a winless region record.

In junior varsity action, the JV Eagles also earned a win over the JV Lady Warriors. Dillon Christian’s JV ladies will be at Florence Christian on Thursday night to take on the Florence Christian JV Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Make plans to attend to support our local team!
