Dillon’s Lady Wildcats and both Latta Vikings teams continued to to rank near the top of the statewide basketball coaches polls this week.

The Lady Cats were ranked first in the state in Class 2A girls basketball, with Mullins ranked in second. Dillon defeated Mullins in their first meeting, but fell 67-50 to the Lady Auctioneers on Tuesday night.

Bishop England, Newberry, and Pendleton rounded out the top five in Class 2A.

In Class A, the Lady Vikings remained in third place while Carvers Bay was knocked from second to sixth after falling to Latta last week. Timmonsville jumped up the rankings to second place while Christ Church remained at the top of the list.

Ridge Spring-Monetta and St. Joseph’s were ranked fourth and fifth, and Region 8-A’s Hemingway slipped to ninth place.

Lancaster took the top spot in the Class 3A girls poll ,and Sumter was on top of the list in Class 4A.

In boys varsity basketball, the Latta Vikings moved up to fourth place last week and held onto the position this week. Burke took the top spot, with Calhoun County in second and Christ Church in third.

Southside Christian was ranked fifth in the state, and Hannah-Pamplico was in sixth place.

In the Class 2A boys polls, Mullins was ranked in seventh place, moving up two spots from last week. Ridgeland-Hardeeville was in first, followed by Cheraw, Keenan, Timberland, and Battery Creek.

In 3A boys, AC Flora took the top spot, and in 4A, Hillcrest was ranked number one.
