Lady Warriors Fall to Florence Eagles

The Lady Warriors of Dillon Christian School fell 66-24 to the Florence Christian Eagles on Tuesday night as the Eagles celebrated senior night.

Florence used a 21-4 first quarter to take a firm lead and held off the Warriors 13-9 in the second to lead 34-13 at halftime. The Eagles outpaced the Warriors 32-11 in the second half to seal the win.

Sara Bass led the Lady Warriors with 10 points in the effort. Sam Carpenter and Madison King each added 5 points, and Katelyn Thompson and Jamie Carpenter each earned two.

Florence was led by Kerstin Dougherty with a game-high 22 points and Kacey Medlin added 18 points with 11 rebounds in the win. Madison Stewart earned 10 points; Abby Drummond, 8; Hannah Brown, 4; Ashlyn Bochette, 2; and Sarah Medlin, 2.

Florence Christian improved to 9-6 overall while the Warriors slipped to 0-6 in SCISA Region 3-2A.

The Warriors will be at The King’s Academy on Friday night but will be back home on Tuesday for their last home game of the season against Marlboro Academy. Dillon Christian will wrap up their regular season on Thursday, February 5, at Pee Dee Academy.
