Eagles Outpace Warriors

The Dillon Christian School Warriors traveled to Florence on Tuesday night for a 57-19 loss to the Florence Christian Eagles in boys varsity basketball action.

Florence Christian took a 13-2 lead in the first quarter and outpaced the Warriors for the rest of the game, taking a 29-11 lead before the end of the first half and outscoring Dillon Christian 28-8 in the second half.

Matthew Price led the Warriors with six points. Jake Boykin added five points; Luke Price, 3; Jim Carr, 3; and Michael Minges, 2.

Florence Christian was led by Michael Cooper with 10 points, 12 steals, and 10 rebounds. Nick Livingston added nine points; Bryce Broach, 8; Alex James, 8; Jacob Lewis, 6; Austin Drummond, 5; Adam Hill, 4; Chris Smith, 3; Jared Sterling, 2; and Drew Knudsen, 2.

The Eagles improved to 11-7 overall and 5-1 in SCISA Region 3-2A, while the Warriors slipped to 0-6 in the region.

The Warriors will be on the road at The King’s Academy on Friday night and will be back home on Tuesday to host Marlboro Academy in their last home game of the season. The action begins with junior varsity girls basketball at 4:00 p.m., so make plans to attend to support our local teams!
