During this past Christmas season, First Presbyterian Church reached out to the college students of our community. On December 19, 2014, college students from multiple churches in Dillon and surrounding counties, gathered for supper and a time of worship.
Matthew Adams, the Director of Youth and Family Ministries at First Presbyterian in Dillon, coordinated the event and Mr. Jeremiah Thomas, the Director of College Ministries at First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, SC, was the guest speaker. His sermon was entitled “Christian Instinct” and he challenged the students to pursue a life that is completely centered in Christ, so much that their actions are indeed Christian instincts.
Mr. Adams led the time of worship, as the students and guests sang Christmas hymns, participated in responsive reading, and heard the Scriptures preached by Mr. Thomas. Frances Stephens and Beth Adams led in the singing as John Dove led the music.
First Presbyterian has already planned for this event to be held this year, on December 18, 2015.
Remember all college students from our county are invited and encouraged to attend.
