Members of the Dillon Historic School Foundation will meet Tuesday, January 6, in the conference room of the Chamber of Commerce.  The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.

Since launching the DHSF Facebook page, interest has increased in the group’s proposed project of saving the DHS/JVM auditorium.  The website features many photos of the interior of the auditorium showing its impressive and spacious interior with a seating capacity of 1106 and its incredible 60-foot stage.  Former students cannot help but be reminded of events held in the auditorium which somehow had an impact on their lives, whether it was class plays, recitals, glee club and band concerts or even the high school graduation exercises.  There’s not another like it anywhere.

If having the choice of another form of entertainment such as performing arts and cultural activities is desirable and makes sense, join DHSF and help make this project a reality.  As recently heard on a PBS program, “We should save the best of our past while we can.”
