Several Latta runners competed in the SCHSL Class A state cross country championships this past weekend.

In the boys division, Latta’s Sam Sellers earned a time of 21:01; Carter Berry finished with a time of 22:34; Carson Sloan, 22:37; Matt Sellers, 24:56; Peyton Benson, 26:51; and Austin Roberts, 26:54.

In the girls division, Margaret Desser finished with a time of 29:20; Kelsey Perry earned a time of 36:18; and Lauren Benson finished at 36:24.

Greer Middle College Charter finished first in the Class A Boys team results, followed by Christ Church, St. Joseph’s, and Brashier Middle College. Greenville Tech Charter and Southside Christian tied for fifth place. Latta finished 20th overall.

Micah Williams of Greer Middle College Charter finished first overall in individual competition, and Hamilton Martin of Greer finished third. Ford McCoy and Carter Powell of St. Joseph’s finished second and fourth, and Alex Goldsmith of Christ Church finished fifth.

St. Joseph’s finished first overall in the girls’ team competition, with Southside Christian in second, Christ Church in third, Greer Middle in fourth, and Brashier Middle in fifth.

Annika Bissinger of St. Joseph’s finished first in the girls individual competition, and St. Joseph’s Sara Catheri Masaschi and Ashlyn Bayadi finished fourth and fifth. Southside Christian’s Ashleigh Keiser finished second and France Wavro took third.
