Mavis Berley Stuart, age 77, died on November 3 in Roswell, GA.
Mrs. Stuart was born in Newberry, SC, the daughter of the late J.B. and Carolyn Berley.
As a library media specialist, Mrs. Stuart worked in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system for over 30 years.She was an elder of Forest Hill Church in Charlotte,and was active in mission work.
Mavis Stuart was preceded in death by her husband, Burns Worth Stuart. Survivors include her son, B. Worth Stuart, Jr. and his wife, Anita P. Stuart, grandchildren Allison Claire and Benjamin Worth; brother, Jerry W. Berley and wife, Bonnie; brother-in-law Joe Stuart and wife, Donna; and six nieces and one nephew.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on November 8 at Riverside Cemetery in Dillon, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America at www.alzfdn.org or to SIMUSA, the Society for International Ministries, at www.simusa.org.
