The Dillon County Council heard from Kenneth L. Smith, president of the Dillon County Boys and Girls Youth Center, on the need for a youth center in Dillon County.
Smith said the center will be open to youth, ages 6-18 years old and will have the goal of inspiring and empowering more youth to succeed. They will provide a variety of services. They are hoping to establish a facility to accommodate 150 children. They are hoping to open in the first quarter of 2016.
Smith said they will need the council’s support and financial help.
