The Dillon Christian School Warriors defeated the Trinity/Byrnes Collegiate School Titans 34-14 in region play on Friday night in Darlington County.

Jim Carr was 16 of 21 passing for 312 yards and two touchdowns with Luke Price catching nine of those passes for 162 yards and a touchdown. The ground attack was lead by TeShaun Lane who carried 22 times for 192 yards and three touchdowns.

The Warriors record stands at 6-1 on the season and 3-1 in region play. The Titans fall to 4-3 on the season. Lane got the Warriors on the board with a 40-yard touchdown run with 5:54 left in the first quarter. Carr kicked the point after to give the Warriors a 7-0 lead. Carr hit wide receiver Ellison Rourke with a 37-yard touchdown pass with 1:51 left in the quarter. Carr’s kick put the Warriors up 14-0 with the quarter ending with this score.

The Warriors finished their first drive in the second quarter with Carr hitting Luke Price with a 24-yard touchdown pass. Carr’s point after kick put the Warrior lead at 21-0 with 9:59 left in the second quarter.

It was beginning to look like a Warrior rout until the Titans got a break with some good field position and made their best drive of the night with Titan quarterback Cameron Pease finishing the drive on a 4-yard keeper run. The point after failed, leaving the Warriors up 21-6 with 2:44 left in the second quarter. The Titans went with the on-side kick and made a rare recovery. Pease moved his team down to the Warrior 23 where he hit wide receiver Franklin Robinson with a touchdown pass. The combination of Pease and Franklin added the two point conversion, cutting the Warrior lead to 21-14 with 1:35 left in the second.

Carr and the Warrior offense Started at their own 3-yard and moved 97 yards in one minute and 20 seconds with Lane scoring on a 3-yard run. Carr’s kick gave the Warriors a 28-14 lead going into the half.

The third quarter was a scoreless defensive battle with Lane getting the final score of the game when he crossed the goal line on a 4-yard run. The point after missed, giving the Warriors the 34-14 win.

On offense for the Warriors, in addition to Carr, Lane, and Price, Carr added 4 of 5 point after kicks, and Lane caught a pass for 25 yards. Ellison Rourke caught three passes for 58 yards and a touchdown; Red Williams caught two passes for 48 yards and had 26 yards rushing on four carries; Michael Minges had 12 yards on three carries; and Thomas Evans had 10 yards on three carries.

On defense, Thomas Evans made nine tackles, two assists, and a quarterback sack; Jake Boykin made seven tackles, three assists, and a fumble recovery; Luke Price made five tackles, three assists; Michael Minges made four tackles, two assists, and an interception; Mathew Price made three tackles, six assists, a quarterback sack, and a batted down pass; Garrett Collins made three tackles; Douglas Bullock made two tackles; Tyquan Crosland and David Williams added a tackle with two assists each; Samuel Brown made seven tackle assists; Ellison Rourke added a tackle with three assists and an interception; and Connor Hamilton, Red Williams, and Evan Paul added a tackle each.

The Warriors will be on the road this Friday, October 17, at Christian Academy with game time set for 7:30 p.m.
