“The Dillon Historic School foundation will meet Tuesday, October 7 in the conference room of the Chamber of Commerce at 7:00 p.m.
The committee putting together the publicity package will report on its progress. The package will include brochures, power point, history and other information that will be helpful for presentation to individuals and groups wanting more information about DHSF and its goals.
Work is also continuing on the foundation’s web site at the request of many who want to get and give information, particularly regarding the DHS/JVM auditorium.
If the number of vehicles surrounding several blocks to audition for the Sheriff’s Talent Show over the weekend is any indication, Dillon does indeed have a thirst for “the stage.” The next Big Name in Country Music or Soul could be right here in Dillon County. The renovated DHS/JVM auditorium could give a huge venue to these aspiring artists.
Come to the meeting of DHSF Tuesday night, and let’s talk about it. Bring a friend. We can bring another element to Dillon that has been unavailable for far too long.”
