Ashley Rogers shot a 47 at Black Bear Golf Club on Friday, September 19, in girls varsity golf.
Rogers has been competing as an individual in varsity golf, earning medalist honors in the Tuesday, September 16, game at Black Bear. She also finished the SCJGA Pee Dee Chapter’s summer tour as the girls 14-18 Player of the Year and finished in 11th place at the SCJGA Tommy Cuthbert All Stars Championship in August with a two-day total of 195.
On Friday, Rogers was competing against players from Socastee, Aynor, and West Forsyth, who also competed in a three-team tournament at Black Bear. Lawson Devers shot a 40 for medalist honors.
Socastee finished first with a score of 187 with Devers leading with a 40 and Megan Dresser shooting a 43. Joey Kirkman shot a 49 and Simone Werter shot a 55.
Aynor’s team earned a 197 with Bailey Richardson shooting a 46; Hayley Hardee, 49; Rachael Wilkinson, 50; and Mary Kate Richardson, 52.
West Forsyth, North Carolina, finished last with a 256, with Emily Berry shooting a 59; Brittany Pritchard, 64; Maria Blevins, 65; and Maddie Kennedy, 68.
