The Dillon Wildcats remained at the top of the Class 2A rankings in the latest statewide media poll.
The Wildcats are undefeated at 3-0 and added a 55-14 win over Latta on Friday night. Dillon will be off this week but will return to action on Friday, September 19, to host Darlington.
Strom Thurmond was ranked second in Class 2A, followed by Timberland, Newberry, and Loris in the top five. Woodruff was ranked sixth, with Batesburg-Leesville in seventh, then Fairfield Central, Chesnee, and Keenan.
Christ Church topped the Class A rankings, followed by Hunter-Kinard-Tyler, Allendale-Fairfax, Lamar, Bamberg-Ehrhardt, Hemingway, Estill, Great Falls and Whitmire. Calhoun County and St. Joseph’s tied for tenth place.
Lake View also received votes but did not make it into the top 10. The Wild Gators were off last week but will be on the road this Friday, September 12, to face St. Johns at 7:30 p.m. Lake View is 1-1 heading into the game.
The Latta Vikings will also be in action this Friday when they host Aynor at 7:30 p.m. The Vikings will be looking for their first win of the regular season after falling to Mullins in Week 1 and Dillon in Week 2.
In SCISA action, the Dillon Christian School Warriors, 2-0 in the regular season, will be at The King’s Academy this Friday at 7:30 p.m.
