The Dillon High School faculty participated in professional development training July 28-31. The focus of these sessions was emphasizing literacy in the content areas as a means to increase graduation rate. Educational consultant, Dr. Craig Drennon, assisted teachers as they examined major factors impacting student achievement as well as characteristics of successful schools. Teachers also analyzed school data to determine areas of strength and areas for growth. The information gleaned from the data analysis was used to develop instructional plans and pacing guides for the upcoming school year. Time was spent working collaboratively to ensure continuity across content areas.
