Former Wildcat Jamie Callahan earned his third win on the mound for the Greenville Drive on Wednesday, August 6, as the Drive defeated Augusta 5-3.

Callahan pitched six innings for three hits, four walks, and four outs for an ERA of 6.04. Callahan didn’t allow a hit until the fourth inning. Jason Garcia got the save, pitching three innings for five hits, three runs, three earned runs, one walk, and four outs.

It was a big win for Callahan, ending a 14 start losing streak. The right-handed pitcher has been struggling at Greenville, and was credited with two more loses since the August 6 win.

So far this season, Callahan is 3-12 on the mound for the Drive with a 6.43 ERA in 23 games and 105 innings. He’s struck out 87 and given up 128 hits, 86 runs (75 earned), and 11 home runs, with 58 walks.

But Callahan is staying positive. He said he has been pushing through the difficulties and is trying to be patient.

Greenville will face Charleston, Savannah, and Lexington over the next two weeks as the season winds down for the Drive.
