Dillon Motor Speedway will host the first annual Necktie Invitational celebrity Street Stock race on Saturday, July 19.

Drivers who are slated to compete in the event include:

• Chip Wile, President of Darlington Raceway

• Dan E. Lockemy, On-air personality on Eagle 92.9

• Daniel Watson, Chief of Police at City of Darlington Police Department

• Jim Gray, Chief of Police at Marion Police Department

• John Isgett, President at Raceway Automotive Group

• Major Hulon, Dillon County Sheriff

• Mel Pennington, Mayor of Hartsville

• Melvin Warren, Major of South Carolina Highway Patrol

• Todd Hardee, Darlington County Coroner

• Wayne Byrd, Darlington County Sheriff

There will be two cars on the track at the same time as the drivers compete in multiple elimination rounds. When the race has dwindled down to the final two remaining drivers, they will compete for $3,000 which will go to charity. The event marks the highest paid Street Stock event since the speedway reopened in 2007.

Other divisions that’ll compete on Saturday, July 19 will include the Super Trucks, Chargers, Street Stocks and Pure Stock Fours. Practice will begin at 4 p.m., followed by qualifying at 6 p.m. and the race at 8 p.m.
