The Dillon City Council discussed the possibility of salary increases for the council and mayor at a recent meeting.
Comparison information was presented to the council from surrounding towns.
The change would require an ordinance and two readings. The council/mayor salaries have not been raised in over 10 years. The mayor said he did not want a raise, but felt the council should get one.
It must be voted on before the spring 2015 election and would take effect after then.
Councilman John Braddy said no one serves for the money.
Mayor Todd Davis said he didn’t think Dillon should get so far behind, but said it was a “touchy” subject.
The issue will be brought up again in September.
