Dillon’s Lady Wildcats slipped to second place in the latest Class 2A South Carolina Softball Coaches polls while Lake View and Latta held steady at sixth and seventh place in Class A.

The Wildcats were ranked second for the second week in a row with Andrew Jackson taking the top spot in Class 2A. The Wildcats are currently 12-2 overall and 8-0 in Region 8-2A.

Buford took third in Class 2A with Chesterfield in fourth and Landrum in fifth place. Crescent, Waccamaw, Pendleton, Ninety Six, and Barnwell filled out the rest of the top 10.

In Class A, Dixie, East Clarendon, Lewisville, Johnsonville, and St. Joseph’s were ranked as the top five in the state. Lake View took sixth and Latta was seventh.

Lake View’s Lady Gators are currently 9-5 overall and 2-3 in Region 8-A, falling to Johnsonville twice and taking a 7-5 loss from Hannah-Pamplico. The Lady Vikings 10-3 overall and 5-2 in the region, falling to Johnsonville and Lake View.

Fox Creek took eighth place in Class A, with McBee in ninth. Green Sea-Floyds and Lamar tied for tenth place.

In Class 3A, Hartsville, Union County, Seneca, Chapin, and Blue Ridge made up the top five, and in Class 4A, Mauldin, Summerville, Byrnes, Northwestern, and Boiling Springs took the top spots.
